Nursultan Nazarbayev: All of us are citizens of one nation

The head of state took part in a solemn event devoted to the Day of the First President in the National Military and Patriotic Centre of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, correspondent reports. 

Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met with students of the Republican Public Association ‘Children’s and Young People’s Military and Patriotic Movement ‘Zhas Sarbaz’ and military and patriotic clubs.

During the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev told about the work of the Zhas Sarbas military and patriotic movement, particularly the necessity to set up the movement’s offices. Additionally, a new uniform of the students was presented to the President.

«All, we have been doing, promoting over these 27 years, is done in order to protect our Homeland. If we fail to protect our independence, our flag, our efforts will be wasted,» the President said addressing to young patriots.

The head of state was also presented with pictures of military painters from Grekov Studio about the modern army of Kazakhstan, and the role of the Supreme Commander in building the Armed Forces, a diorama ‘Battle of Orbulak’ with the use of special effects.

«Representatives of many ethnic groups live in Kazakhstan due to the history. Therefore, all of us are citizens of this country. You possibly well aware of the history of great Rome. They in Rome revered citizenship more than nationality. The citizen of Rome and that’s all. They did not distinguish by nationality. Every person who lived in the Empire was its citizen. And consuls and imperators were from various nationalities. So we are Kazakhstanis, Kazakhs the land of whom saw many cultures from the ancient Huns and Saka, through the Turkic Empires, from East to West, and from West to East,» said Nursultan Nazarbayev addressing to the youth.

The National Military and Patriotic Centre of the Armed Forced of Kazakhstan organized an exposition on the motive of the Article of the President ‘Seven Faces of the Great Steppes’, where collections of the Golden Man, sables and other personal stuff of Kenesary Khan, a weapon of Aibalta Bogenbay batyr.
