Kazakhstan to export up to 20 names of agricultural products to China

During the visit of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Umirzak Shukeyev to China, a Roadmap was signed with Chairman of the main customs administration of China to export 20 new types of agricultural products to Chian in the near two years, BNews.kz reports referring to a press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan. 

As of today, 13 protocols on 13 types of commodities are signed, other three are agreed to be signed during an official visit of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan to China.

«New 20 protocols, on which a Roadmap was signed, include poultry, horse meat, and pork, as well as the live cattle for slaughter. Crop products include rapeseed, the safflower, buckwheat, peas, chickpea, sesame, some types of vegetables and fruits, nuts and pistachios, refrigerated meat, including lamb,» they said in a press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

During the visit, the Kazakh delegation visited the international exhibition of imported products themed CHINA INTERNATIONAL IMPORT EXPO, where 130 states and transnational companies take part. Kazakhstan is represented by 30 companies with a majority of food producers.

During the exhibition, Umirzak Shukeyev took part in the Trade and Innovation Forum, where he delivered a report to the exhibition’s guests, by telling advantages of investing in agriculture of Kazakhstan.

«Heads of national delegations, Prime Minister or Ministers of the European Union states, the leadership of the Economic Cooperation and Development Organization, as well as such well-known experts as Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Alibaba founder Jack Ma made their speeches.

Bilateral meetings of business circles of China and Kazakhstan with the participation of the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, JSC KazAgro and representatives of the Governor’s Offices took place within the exhibition.

During the B2B meetings, agreements to work out matters to construct a sugar plant in the Pavlodar region were reached. To this end, 3 large Chinese companies will visit Kazakhstan in the near future,» they said in the Ministry of Agriculture.

In addition, a memorandum to construct a plant to process grain and produce noodles in Astana was signed between Qazaq capital partners and Wudeli Flour Group Co. LTD.

Representatives of Chinese companies expressed interest in the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan and plans to invest in machinery, meat processing, fodder production, logistics, as well as in trade and agricultural marketing.
